As a pioneer of charter school facility solutions, the BC Construction Group (BCCG) charter school team was selected by Alliance Education Services to Design-Build this new, STEM-focused education facility.

BCCG’s design solution is based on its cost-efficient, state-of-the-art, two-story charter school prototypical model. The scope of the project includes, 48 classrooms, a 3,344 SF administrative area, a 7,300 SF integrated gymnasium, a raised stage, locker rooms, storage, a warming kitchen, a sports field, and vehicle and bicycle parking.

The building shell is constructed with tilt-up, reinforced concrete wall panels, supported on conventional shallow spread footings, and a structural steel second floor and roof framing. Interior functional spaces are defined by framed drywall wall partitions. Walls are painted and lavatories feature ceramic tile wainscot. Floor finishes include exposed sealed concrete in the classrooms and corridors with carpet throughout the administrative office area.

BCCG is providing full development services, which includes land use approvals and entitlements, pre-construction services through conceptual, schematic, and construction document phases. Construction services include project management, quality assurance, and cost management to GMP budget.

The addition of this new school to the southwest area of Charlotte, North Carolina provides relief to the school population demand, and will provide another option for parents in the growing community.
